I am looking for birthplaces of two of my ancestors who, according to census records, were both born in NH. Their names were Asa BARNEY (b. 19 Apr 1805) and Mahetabel HOYT (his wife; b. 18 Feb 1816). Seek info on John GOVE, wife Mary, reported to have gone to NH after many were banished from MASS Colony in 1637. Was told will of Mary Gove is in N.H.. According to family stories, his father was "William or Caleb" Haskell, and was the youngest of 11 children, the others all girls; parents died when he was young, and he was sent off to Canaan, VT; later he was in Stockholm St. Lawrence Co., NY by 1812 when he enlisted in the NY State militia, and died there in 1852. Hunt, b 1849, Portsmouth, NH, served in Civil War, m 1872/73 Georgiana Bean, d in papermill accident on 8 Apr 1881 in Westbrook, ME; 6) John W. Hunt, b 1853, NH. Phineas Hunt last appears in 1850 census as at age 50, occupation "shoemaker", born NH. He also owned at one time a store on the wharf in Portsmouth. I am looking for the parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.... of one Lyman MILES. I have very little data on him. What I know, Martha Miles married John CATHCART in Clearfield County, PA in Nov. 1853, she listed her parents as Simon & Elizabeth MILES. We could not find a Simon in the census, but found a Lyman. Martha MILES CATHCART, died Aug. 4, 1860 her death notice stated her father was Lyman MILES. Now from the 1850 Clearfield County, PA census Lyman MILES age 40, farmer, born in NH Margaret age 39, PA Mary age 16, PA George age 14, PA Martha age 13, PA (my line) Sarah age 10, PA Henry age 7, PA Edward age 5, PA Walter age 3, PA James age 1, PA I have no idea where in NH Lyman MILES was born. He was in the Clearfield County, PA 1840 census, So he left NH sometime after his birth about 1810. I would appreciate any help with this family no matter how small or large the data would be. I am searching for the parents and birth place of William R. RICHARDSON. He is my great-great-grandfather. I have the death certificate of his son, Nelker, from MA. and it states his father was born in NH. I also have a print-out of the 1860 Lamoille Co., VT census, where they were living at the time. Not knowing when the census was taken, I am guessing William R. RICHARDSON was born either 1831 or 1832 as he was 28 years old for the census. I am looking for information on my grandfather Alpheus Dexter SMITH b.1842 in New Hampshire. On my father's birth certificate it list Alpheus' occupation as Phyiscian. He Married Mary Rosetta Bennett of Weavery NY. . Only clue I have so far is a photo of Mary taken in Manchester NH. (no date). Searching for information on William Merell WATKINS ... according to the 1860 census for Tioga County, PA, he was born 3 APR 1800 in New Hampshire. I believe that he might have previously been married as the wife listed was born in 1823 and their first son wasn't born until 1856. Family "rumor" has it that he ran away with his brother's wife?
